Fur looks good and feels good too. It is so warm, soft, and fuzzy.
Fur can add elegance to shoes and boots or give them a soft &
comfy look and feel. And of course, the fur does not have to be
real-in fact, it works better for most shoes if it is synthetic fur.
1. Plan out where you want to use fur on or in your shoes.
Draw a sketch-a rough childlike sketch is fine-no one is
looking or grading you anymore. If you need ideas-browse a
shoe store or shoe catalog to see the typical placements of fur
on the style of shoe you are customizing.

2. Looking at your design, you will notice some basic shapes
that stand out. Maybe a rectangular band for the fur or a bit of a
rough triangle of coverage on the side. Trace a life size, actual
size, outline of the fur segments on a brown paper bag.

3. Cut the rough fur pattern for customizing your shoes out of
the brown paper bag. Test out your design on your shoes. Trim
and tweek where necessary.

4. Cut out your fur according to your brown paper bag pattern.
Cut a little bit larger than you need - you can always trim later.

5. Put some fabric glue or adhesive on the back of your fur and
stick in place. Sometimes this is enough.

6. For some shoes or boots, sew a few stability stitches to
hold your fur in place on your shoes. Or sew a basic seam - by
hand or with a machine around a boot leg opening if the boot
leg opening will fit around your machine platform.
